The Wilhelminstraat is a lovely, old street, situated in the renovated 19th century neighbourhood, Old-West. The Vondelpark is 400 yards far and the Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk Museum and Rijksmuseum are within walking distance. On both sides of the street grow old, romantically inclined, Acacia trees, which not only blossom immaculately white in spring but even – with a little effort – in mid-winter! If necessary tram 1 is 300 yards far and takes you directly into the city centre and her idyllic canals. Much to our delight, the street crosses The Jan Pieter Heijestreet – a most unfortunate name indeed, which is the place to be to have breakfast, lunch or dinner as well as a daring late night drink before the Queen-size bed makes its presence known!
